The article reveals the importance of professional competence in the educational process, including the place of reflexive competence and the possibilities of project technology in its formation. In modern conditions, not only the actual knowledge of the student is of particular importance, but also his ability to professionally carry out certain professional activities, which becomes the main object of evaluation and a property of the quality of training. In order to form reflexive competence and increase the cognitive interest of students, there is a need to develop new methods of creative work with students and choose the most effective and rational ones. Such an effective pedagogical technology is a project technology that makes it possible to improve the quality of vocational training by including students in various activities. The application of the project technology in teaching focuses modern students not only on the simple assimilation of knowledge, but also on the ways of assimilation, models and methods of thinking and activity, the development of cognitive activity and creative potential of each student. The relevance of mastering the basics of project activity is due to the fact that it has a wide scope of application at all levels of the organization of the education system, allows for more effective analytical, organizational and managerial functions and ensures the competitiveness of a specialist.
